Cardboard World
Dear Editor: Mt. Edgecumbe Preschool would like to send a great big thank you to all who helped make our “Cardboard World” spaghetti dinner and dessert auction a great success.
Thank you to AC Lakeside, Northern Sales and Sea Mart for their donations of food toward our dinner. We had some amazing donations for our dessert auction from the Backdoor Café, Larkspur, Grandma Tillie’s Bakery, The Nugget, Westmark Sitka, Bayview Pub, Homeport Eatery, Highliner Coffee, Ludvig’s, Allison’s Wonderland and Community Massage. We are also thankful to Baranof Realty for their advertising donation.
All of these local businesses gave enthusiastically and generously and we truly appreciate their support and we, in turn, encourage other Sitkans to support them. Thank you.

Letter of Thanks
Dear Editor: Thank you to Retha Winger and the Girl Scouts and parents of Troop 4140 for organizing and participating in the reusable bag sewing event on April 5.
Thanks, too, to Mary Wood from Sitka Conservation Society and for the Alaska Way of Life 4-H students who sewed bags. Your hard work led to more than 200 bags being sewn in just a few hours. Sitka Global Warming Group appreciates your effort to replenish the supply of bags in the Reusable Bag Libraries at Sea Mart and AC Lakeside grocery stores.
We hope Sitkans visit us at the two grocery stores from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, Earth Day, to learn how to use the bag library and to borrow a “new” reusable bag, if they need one.
Michelle Putz,
Sitka Global Warming Group
