The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

April 13

At 5:20 p.m. a parent asked for help with a juvenile. The juvenile later was taken to a hospital.

At 9:46 p.m. two adult siblings were reported arguing. Police talked to them and they agreed to separate for the night, and to leave each other alone.

At 10:56 p.m. a caller said a man she didn’t know had come into her residence on Japonski Island, and wasn’t responding to questions. The man left before officers arrived.

 

Sitka Police

William D. Stanley, 54, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department dispatched an engine to the 2300 block of HPR at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, in response to a report of a chimney fire. The homeowner had put out the fire before the engine arrived, and the firefighters checked to make sure the fire was out.

The fire hall also received three ambulance calls Thursday.

 

Wildlife Troopers

Thomas Perkins, 62, of Sitka, was cited Thursday for allegedly failing to submit fish tickets as required within seven days of landing commercial troll caught king and coho salmon July 1, 2022.
