Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

April 14

At 8:51 a Lincoln Street store reported a customer was being aggressive and rude. The person was trespassed.

At 10:09 a.m. a dog was reported to have attacked another dog on Kirkman Way. The animal control officer was advised.

A woman said she believed her landlord had taken some of her things while she was in the hospital. She was advised of her options.

A man from out of town asked for a welfare check on a woman. Officers found she was well, and the man was advised.

At 4:26 p.m. a fight was reported in a parking lot in the 200 block of Katlian. Officers spoke to the combatants, none of whom wanted EMS called or charges filed.

At 6:17 p.m. a caller said a car had rolled into a fence at Kimsham ball field. The fence wasn’t damaged but the car received some minor damage.

At 10:09 p.m. a man reported a rape case. Police opened an investigation.

At 6 a.m. a man reported receiving threatening text messages. Police opened an investigation.

 

Sitka Police

Mira Mayo-Davidson, 17, was arrested Thursday on charges of violating an instructional permit and minor operating after consumption.

Steven Rice, 50, was arrested this morning on a charge of driving under the influence.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received seven ambulance calls Thursday.

  

Coast Guard

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter searched the area around an overturned skiff near Juneau Thursday, but found no signs or reports of anyone missing.

The Coast Guard received a report at 2 p.m. of the partially submerged unmarked skiff, halfway between Scull Island and Douglas. A helicopter, a Station Juneau vessel and a Good Samaritan vessel searched the area, but found no signs an accident had occurred. The vessel was towed to Auke Bay, the Coast Guard said.

Scull Island is 11 miles southwest of Juneau.
