The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

April 17

At 1:36 a.m. a security check was made at the Block House at Kaagwaantaan and Seward streets.

At 8:16 a.m. a man who was painting his boat at Thomsen Harbor said a dog had turned up and was walking on the boat, leaving paw prints in the paint. Police cited the dog’s owner for not having it on a leash.

At 8:21 a.m. a man was reported sleeping on the sidewalk in the 200 block of Katlian Street. Police found he was able to care for himself, and advised him to move along.

At 9:50 a.m. a caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver on HPR. Police found the driver had been reaching for something in his vehicle, and was not intoxicated.

At 12:26 p.m. a caller reported a sexual assault. Police are investigating.

At 3:04 p.m. a caller reported seeing a van pass a school bus displaying flashing red lights, at Jeff Davis Street and SMC. Police are investigating.

At 9:29 p.m. a woman was reported passed out in the 100 block of Harbor Drive. She was not there when police and an ambulance arrived.

April 18

At 3 a.m. a bear was reported in the area of Andrew P. Hope Street  and Indian River Road. It ran into the woods when officers arrived.

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Saturday.
