The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

April 18

At 3 a.m. a bear was reported in the area of Andrew P. Hope Street  and Indian River Road. It ran into the woods when officers arrived.

At 4:27 a.m. a caller reported being locked out of a vehicle.

At 1:43 p.m. an intoxicated man was reported causing a disturbance at the court house. He was convinced to move along.

A report of a sexual assault came in at 6:11 p.m. Police opened an investigation.

At 9:16 p.m. a caller reported a rooster was running at large on Price Street.

April 19

Security checks were made at  the Starrigavan boat launch and Eliason Harbor.

At 1:26 a.m. an intoxicated woman was reported near the ferry terminal. She was given a ride home.

 

Sitka Police

Diego Carlos, 24, was charged Tuesday with criminal mischief in the third degree.

Edgar Diego, 69, was charged Tuesday with two counts of assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence, and one count of harassment in the first degree.

 

Emergency Calls

 

Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Tuesday.

 

Wildlife Troopers

Ronald Blake, 54, of Cordova, was cited for allegedly employing an unlicensed crew member and Benjamin Gordon, 27, of Sitka was cited for no commercial crew license. Wildlife troopers said on March 25 they boarded the F/V Kelly Ann following a test set before the herring sac roe fishery opened, and found Gordon did not have a commercial crew license as required. Each carries a fine of $250.
