Police Blotter
The following calls were received by Sitka police by 8 a.m. today:
April 1
At 8:29 a.m. a minor traffic accident involving two vehicles was reported in the 1511 block of SMC.
At 1:46 p.m. a caller said people were drinking in front of a building in the 200 block of Katlian. Officers noted two men eating and drinking what appeared to be sodas. One was intoxicated but able to care for himself and left the area on foot.
The postmaster turned in a coin purse with cash that had been found in the post office parking lot March 7.
At 7 p.m. a caller said a drunk man left a store on Baranof Street and was lying on the sidewalk. Officers found he was uninjured and able to care for himself. He said he’d walk home.
A caller reported finding prescription blood pressure medicine. She was told she could drop it off at the police station, but she decided to give it back to the owner.
April 2
At 5:33 a.m. a caller said she wasn’t feeling well, couldn’t sleep and wanted to die. Asked if she wanted an officer to come talk to her, she said no, she wanted to be alone and hung up. An officer did a welfare check but she wouldn’t come to the door or answer her phone. An agency was to be called.
Sitka Police
Eric C. Morrow, 58, was charged Monday with criminal trespass in the second degree and violating conditions of release.
