Texting Hotline
Dear Editor: Many of us are feeling overwhelmed with all the information available at this time as we stay home, try to work from here, and take care of our families and kids. Sitkans Against Family Violence is working to provide new services to best meet the needs of our community at this time.
SAFV has started a new texting hotline available every day of the week, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. at (907) 623-7820.
Additionally, we would like to share with you a new comprehensive COVID-19 resource page on our website for all of us to use but particularly for victims and survivors of interpersonal violence. Under the tab COVID-19 you can find information on safety planning, links to mental health resources, and self-care. You will also find virus information and statistics, impacts of the pandemic on violence and racism, resources for parents and families including how to talk to kids about COVID-19, and local resources all located at www.safv.org/covid-19.
If you need to talk to an advocate, please call 747-3370 anytime. We are here for you, as always.
