Sitka High Prom
Dear Editor: This past Saturday, April 17, Sitka High School was able to successfully put on a safe and enjoyable prom.
The school would like to thank the Centennial Hall staff for helping to make sure the event ran smoothly, Sitka Bottling for its refreshment donations, the Slack Tide band for warming up the crowd, Andrew Hames for his lively music, Katlyn Hull for her photography work, Grace Ivers for the delicious macarons, and to Officer Mitchell Boord for his time and dedication.
With this team effort from the staff, students, and the groups mentioned above, Sitka High students had the opportunity to have their first dance in over a year. The limited amount of interaction throughout the year has resulted in few events for students and this was the first time many students were able to participate together. Without the effort and dedication from the community, students, and staff this would not have been possible.
