Seafood Deliveries

Dear Editor: Over the past three weeks, the Alaska Longline Fishermen’s Association has delivered over 300 pounds of donated seafood fillets to Sitka families in need and wellness organizations that are helping Sitkans weather the pandemic.

With a full heart, we want to thank those who have helped make this donation program possible: Seafood Producers Cooperative and North Pacific Seafoods for facilitating processing and seafood pick up; Silver Bay Seafoods for their substantial donation; ALFA members who have generously donated fish; the Mutual Aid Program for identifying families in need; and the many local and non-local people who have visited ALFA’s Alaskans Own website to make a donation in support of this program. Donations cover the processing and delivery costs; the seafood is donated and provided free to those in need.

We are proud to be part of a community that pulls together and grows stronger through a crisis. With ongoing support, we intend to continue delivering seafood through the spring and beyond. You can learn more about the seafood donation program or make a contribution by visiting AlaskansOwn.com. Thank you, Sitka!
