The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.
April 26
At 9:05 a.m. an incident of drunkenness was reported at Crescent Harbor.
At 9:52 a.m. a juvenile problem was reported at a school.
At 11:43 a.m. a shoplifting incident was reported in the 1800 block of HPR. The business declined to press charges.
At 11:45 a.m. a vehicle was reported being driven on the rims of its tires, in the Crescent Harbor parking area. It was not in the area when police arrived.
At 2:19 p.m. a caller reported hearing five gunshots in the 600 block of Baranof Street. Police were unable to find the source.
At 3:08 p.m. a dead deer was found at the recycle center. The carcass was donated to the Alaska Raptor Center.
At 3:49 p.m. and 8:44 p.m. callers in the Wolff Drive area reported hearing fireworks. Police didn’t find a likely source.
At 8:51 p.m. a woman was reported screaming on Monastery Street. Police found it was a verbal altercation, nothing criminal.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received one ambulance call Wednesday.
At 4:56 p.m. Wednesday the department responded to a report of a car fire in the 2200 block of HPR. The car owner put out the fire with an extinguisher before the firefighters arrived.
