Piano Guild Auditions
Dear Editor: Julia A. Kruger, vice president of Piano Guild, a teacher division of the American College of Musicians, was late getting to Sitka april 21 after her flights were delayed from Austin, Texas, to Sitka. Being our Piano Guild judge for this event and late flights (no food on the flights) we want to express our sincere thanks for everything she went through to get to Sitka!
The exceptionally helpful comments to the pianists that performed for her are tremendously appreciated. All students received Superior Ratings! Students performing were Zander Sudnikovich-Remington, Kaydyn Larry Lozada, Liam Minh LeRoy Laybourn, Calysta Eddy, Zoe Claire Tydingco, Gracelynn Friske, John Brayden Abarientos, David Lee Hill, Virginia Christine Pearson and Landon Kirkness.
Parents were amazingly understanding for the delayed auditions. We made the new schedule work on April 22.
Mrs. Kruger flew to Anchorage on April 23, the 6 a.m. flight, to continue judging for the Anchorage Piano Guild Center. An hour after she arrived she was judging and heard students for two more full days.
Thank you to Piano Guild, Mrs. Kruger and parents for all the flexibility and readiness to make Piano Guild happen after the four-year break from COVID.
