Ramshackle Cabaret
Dear Editor: The Ramshackle Cabaret would like to send its sincere appreciation for the love and support you demonstrated for this year’s production.
Our mission every year is to create space for boundary-pushing art and to raise money to support reproductive health by donating all of our proceeds to Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and the Hawaiian Islands. The Cabaret troupe which is composed of builders, artists, security, bartenders, servers, musicians, light and sound technicians, fortune tellers, directors, and performers, is lucky to live in such a fine town.
The Cabinet of Curiosities was a rousing success and we owe it all to amazing volunteers and local business. The Cabaret would like to extend special thank yous to the following: Mean Queen for providing us with space, food, drink and moral support; Harrigan Centennial Hall for having tremendous patience with all our feathers, glitter and curious requests; John Herchenrider, Nate Monahan, Megan Meier and Charlie Morgan for the creaks, groans, sparkles and strobes; Old Harbor Books for acting as our ticket distribution center; Ellen Frankenstein and ArtChange Inc. for adopting us; John and Sharon Ferrick for draping darkness and gloom; Pat Marschie for allowing our cabinet to grow and evolve in his living room; Alec Cunningham for keeping our performers and audience safe and secure in The Gloom; Sarah Ferrency for miraculously creating the most curious posters and programs; Kaycie Carter and Carla Whiteside for painting us with feathers, glitter, blood and shadows; the artists for wielding pencils, charcoal, paint, doll heads, Tarot and jewelry to breathe light and life into the darkness; Bethany Sonsini Goodrich, Owen Kindig and Ellen (again) for capturing the absurdity through various lenses; Sitka Cirque for twisting, turning, bending and mesmerizing our minds; and our amazing art team who, armed with beef hearts, twisted branches, and octopus legs, transported us to a world unlike any other.
The Ramshackle Cabaret,
Hillary Seeland, Christian Litten
and Margie Heartbottom
