Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
April 29
At 9:11 a.m. a civil dispute was reported. No address was given.
An animal problem was reported at Halibut Point Recreation Area.
At 11:23 a.m. suspicious activity at a downtown business was reported.
At 12:51 p.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 1800 block of HPR.
A traffic stop was made at 1:48 p.m. in the 2900 block of HPR, and at 3:57 p.m. from Sealing Cove.
At 7:54 p.m. and 10:23 p.m. suspicious activity was reported at a business in the 1300 block of SMC.
Sitka Police
Corey Kadake, 26, was charged early today with disorderly conduct, assault in the fourth degree on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
Sarah Smith, 43, was charged today with disorderly conduct.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 2:22 p.m., 6:42 p.m. and 10:22 p.m. Wednesday.
A fire was reported at 2:40 p.m. but it proved to be a false alarm. There was no fire, SFD said.
In Court
William Donald Allery, 29, on a February charge of assault in the fourth degree, negligently injure, was sentenced to 120 days with 90 suspended and placed on probation until March 16, 2022. Three charges of assault in the fourth degree, causing fear of injury, were dismissed.
Linda Rae Ozawa, 47, on a March charge of assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure, received an amended judgment, with probation set at March 3, 2021.
Bert C. McCay, 64, of Wrangell was fined $2,000 with $1,000 suspended on a February charge of unlawful possession of fish. He will be on probation until March 2021, and is to forfeit all crab caught.
Vaughn Joseph Dalton, 24, on a charge of theft, a class C Felony, was given suspended sentencing for a period of probation, 36 months. On a Sept. 7, 2019, charge of assault in the fourth degree he was sentenced to 180 days with 150 days suspended. On a charge of violating conditions of release he was sentenced to five days, to be served consecutively to the theft sentence. Charges of vehicle theft in the first degree; assault in the fourth degree, recklessly injure; driving under the influence; criminal trespass in the second degree on premises; and resisting/interfering with arrest were dismissed.
Rubi Gabriela Nicodemus, 47, on an April 2019 charge of attempted miscellaneous weapons in the second degree, firing a gun in a dwelling, a class B felony, was sentenced to 24 months with 21 suspended, and five years probation. On a charge of driving under the influence she was sentenced to 30 days with 27 suspended. The sentenced are to be consecutive. Charges of assault in the third degree, cause fear of injury with weapons;miscellaneous/ weapons in the fourth degree, possession while intoxicated; and miscellaneous weapons in the fourth degree, firing recklessly, were dismissed.
Larie Ann Williams, 35, of Bellingham, Washington, on a September 2019 charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree was sentenced to five years with credit for time served. A charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree was dismissed.
Kevin Martin See, 28, on a September 2019 charge of assault in the third degree, cause injury with a weapon, a class C felony, was sentenced to 36 months with 30 months suspended, and is to be on probation for four years. Charges of assault in the second degree and vehicle theft were dismissed.
