April 4, 2022, Police Blotter

Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

April 1

A caller asked for a welfare check on a friend with health problems. The friend was found alive and well.

A bicycle that was turned in to police was to be returned to its owner.

A civil dispute involving neighbors was reported.

A set of keys with one marked Dodge was turned in to police.

At 10 p.m. juveniles were reported having a fire in the 5200 block of HPR. Officers gave them a verbal warning, and they left.

At 11:33 p.m. a man was reported looking into cars in the 200 block of Katlian Street. Officers talked to the man, who denied he had done it.

April 2

A set of keys on a green rope was turned in.

A wallet was turned in to police, and returned to its owner.

At 11:39 a.m. a caller reported an unoccupied kayak was floating at Herring Cove. Police found the kayak was being anchored there by its owner.

Damage to a sign and on the trail at Herring Cove was reported. The Forest Service was notified.

At 7:31 p.m. a caller reported hearing someone screaming in the 6000 block of HPR. Officers found no one in the area.

April 3

At 3:21 a.m. a family dispute was reported in the 1300 block of HPR. Officers found no victim and no crime.

At 2 p.m. a possible theft involving a taxi fare was reported, but it apparently was unfounded.

At 6:10 p.m. two juveniles were reported vaping in the 800 block of Lincoln Street.  They were gone when officers arrived.

A family dispute was reported at 9 p.m. on Burkhart Street. A man agreed to leave.

April 4

At 6:32 a.m. a caller said a driver had driven at her in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. She was advised of her options.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Friday, four on Saturday, six on Sunday and one early this morning.

At 6:23 p.m. Friday burned food set off a fire alarm in the 1300 block of Seward Avenue. There was no fire.
