Thanks, Sitka Bottling

Dear Editor: Yet another local business has provided assistance to the Sitka Homeless Coalition. Sitka Bottling contributed snack foods that will be welcomed by our participants. At this time of economic uncertainty it is heart-warming to witness their generosity.

COVID-19 Protection

Dear Editor: Sitka is doing good on the social distancing which begs the next question. What can we do to further protect ourselves and our town?

It would be wise for any person who is in a direct relationship with several people to wear a N95 mask/respirator or better.  The postal workers, the grocery store personnel, nurses, doctors, receptionists, etc., all should wear a mask.

If one of these people has the virus they could spread it to many. With the mask the social distancing is three feet, or so say the countries like China, Japan and Korea where the virus is under control. The three-foot social distance would help these workers do their job better.
