Dear Editor: I would like to publicly express sincere thanks and gratitude to Sitkans Bert Stedman, Rebecca Himshoot, Jonathan Kriess-Tomkins and Jude Pate for renewing their commitments to public service and submitting themselves as candidates in the November 3, 2026, election.

Although more votes are yet to be counted, the excitement cannot be contained when one considers Sitka may experience home-grown “Three for Three” representation in the Legislative, Judicial and Administrative branches of Alaska’s government in the upcoming years.

Again, thanks to each of you!

Best in all you do! You will be well supported.

Gail Johansen Peterson, Sitka
