Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
August 10
At 1:50 a.m. contact was made with a citizen over various items alongside the road in the 1400 block of HPR.
At 10:11 a.m. a caller reported seeing someone riding a National Park Service bicycle that had been reported stolen. Police made an arrest.
At 11:30 a.m. a pedestrian said a driver revved his car engine in a threatening way while the pedestrian was in the crosswalk in the 200 block of Harbor Drive. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
A black Lab running at large in the 1200 block of SMC was picked up and taken to the animal shelter.
A young bike rider was reported swerving in the roadway on Katlian Street. He was gone when officers arrived.
At 1:21 p.m. a vehicle was reported to have lost a wheel at DeGroff and Lake Street. Officers were told a tow truck had been called.
A scam involving a check in the mail was reported.
At 2:08 p.m. a woman was reported sleeping in the 1200 block of SMC. Police found she was just resting.
At 2:18 p.m. a welfare check was requested on a woman on Etolin Way. Police found her car battery was dead and she needed a jump.
At 4:10 p.m. a resident in the 2800 block of SMC said a bear was again hanging out around the home. The bear was gone when a wildlife trooper arrived. The trooper was to follow up with a call to Fish and Game.
A person was trespassed from the Sitka Fine Arts Camp campus.
At 9:31 p.m. a water leak was reported in the 2800 block of SMC. Police contacted the water department.

David Skultka, 39, was charged Wednesday with theft in the third degree and violating conditions of release.
