Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

August 11

At 1:48 a.m. an incident of drunkenness was reported on Raptor Way.

At 2:32 a.m. a bear call came in from Rudolph Walton Circle.

At 3:27 a.m. a bear was reported in the 2000 block of SMC.

At 4:50 a.m. a bear call came in from Andrew P. Hope Street.

At 7:38 a.m. a caller reported a dead cat by the side of the road in the 3200 block of HPR. An officer disposed of the carcass.

At 9:33 p.m. a vehicle was reported broken down in the roundabout. It was towed off.

At 10:26 a.m. a civil dispute was reported over an eviction. An officer advised two persons of their options.

At 5:35 p.m. a downtown business office reported the theft of a bathroom key.

At 5:24 p.m. a caller requested a welfare check on a woman who hadn’t shown up at work. She was found to be OK.

At 5:34 p.m. a vehicle was reported to be broken down and blocking traffic at Davidoff Street and HPR. It was moved after receiving gas.

At 5:41 p.m. an intoxicated tourist was reported causing a disturbance at a downtown bar. He was told to leave.

At 9:53 p.m. citizen contact was made in the 700 block of HPR.

A bear call came in at 9:56 p.m. from Alice Loop Road.

An incident of drunkenness was logged at Crescent Harbor at 11:37 p.m.

At 11:53 p.m. a bear call came in from Lifesaver Drive.

August 12

At 4:30 a.m. a bear was reported in the 1400 block of Johnston Street.

At 6:14 a.m. a bear call came  in from Andrew P. Hope Street.

 

Sitka Police

Dillon Johnson, 24, was  arrested Wednesday on a charge of violating conditions of release.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 12:43 p.m., 3:21 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, and at 2:07 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. today.

 

In Court

Richard Matthew Davis, 31, on a charge of driving under the influence was fined $2,000 with $500 suspended and sentenced to 30 days with 27 days suspended. He is to receive an integrated behavioral health assessment and follow recommendations. His driver’s license was revoked for 90 days, and he was placed on probation for one year.
