Vacation Bible School
Dear Editor: What a wonderful blessed community we live in. We just finished another uplifting week of Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School. We had 125 children attending this year. This never would have been accomplished without the help of 75 volunteers.
At one point in late May I was beginning to think it would not be possible to have VBS this summer because of the lack of volunteers at that point. With the encouragement of the VBS committee and FAITH we proceeded and ended up with more than enough junior and senior staff and station leaders.
I would like to thank all of you wonderful and talented volunteers who stepped up to the plate and gave your time, energy, talents and loving support. The sponsoring churches (Sitka Assembly of God, Sitka Lutheran, First Presbyterian, Grace Harbor, St. Peter’s Episcopal, and the Sitka United Methodist Church) truly make VBS what it is! It says a lot about Sitka when six different churches can come and work together to put on a terrific Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School.
I would also like to thank Sea Mart for their generous donation that helped us provide ice cream floats to help celebrate the final day. Thank you all for making VBS such a success.
