Card of Thanks
Dear Editor: We wish to thank everyone who offered us words of comfort, concern and support in the difficult year that we all have just marked. We thank everyone who offered assistance, skills, time, inclusion in every way, large and small.
Thank you for talking about William and sharing your memories or experiences of him; keeping him alive in your minds and hearts and helping us know he is there for you too. There are too many individuals and organizations to name, whose acts of kindness keep us going.
This poem by the 14th century Perian poet, Hafez, was offered to me and describes how deeply the caring of our community has been for us, both literally and figuratively:
Out
Of a great need
We are all holding hands
And climbing.
Not loving is letting go.
Listen,
The terrain around here
Is
Far too
Dangerous
For
That.
With gratitude, love and high regard,
Libby and Sasha Stortz and family
