August 17, 2021, Police Blotter

Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

August 16

At 12:35 a.m. an officer saw a man  reported running in back of a business in the 1300 block of SMC.

Bear calls came in at 3:09 a.m., 3:29 a.m., 3:41 a.m. and 3:47 a.m. from Lance Drive.

At 3:59 a.m. a curfew violation was reported. However, police found the two persons were over age 18.

At 6:30 p.m. a vehicle was reported parked on the sidewalk at Lake and Lincoln streets. An officer had the driver move it.

 

At 6:46 a.m. a bear call came in from Andrew P. Hope Street.

At 1:13 p.m. a civil dispute was reported over a borrowed vehicle. An officer helped resolve the situation.

At 3:22 p.m. a man was reported behaving strangely on Baranof Street. He vomited but was found to be able to care for himself.

A credit card and other cards were found in a plastic bag on O’Connell Bridge.

At 4:55 p.m. a woman said she’d returned home to find someone had removed a screen door and had taken salami out of the refrigerator and left it on the table.

At 7:55 p.m. and 7:57 p.m. bear calls came in from Andrew P. Hope Street.

At 8:22 p.m. three men were reported sleeping under the Crescent Harbor shelter. An officer spoke to them.

At 9:16 p.m. an officer saw a flare being shot off at Eliason Harbor. Nothing was found amiss.

At 11:21 a bear call came in from Lance Drive, and at 11:28 p.m. one came in from Rudolph Walton Circle.

August 17

At 12:17 a.m. a police dispatcher noted that the lights on a vehicle parked on Oja Street had been on for more than two hours. An officer found the vehicle door was unlocked and turned off the lights.

Bear calls came in at 1:18 a.m. from 2035 HPR; at 1:57 a.m. from Jewells Court; at 2:22 a.m. from Lance Drive; at 2:50 a.m. from Molly Lane; and at 5:55 a.m. from Lance Drive.

 

Sitka Police

Oran McGraw, 45, was charged Monday with violating conditions of release.

Henry Johnson, 59, was charged Monday with driving with a revoked license.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Monday.
