Police Blotter
    Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
August 23
    A man sprayed in the face with an unknown substance was taken to a hospital.
    A caller said an older friend wasn’t answering his phone. The friend told the dispatcher he’d forgotten to tell the caller he was fishing, and was fine.
    Police were given information on two vehicles stolen in Mexico.
    A man was reported sleeping in two vehicles on Katlian.
    An intoxicated man at Crescent was helped back on his boat.
    A caller said he and his wife had argued and threats were made.
   At 9 p.m. a caller said a man at the playground was following her son and a friend. Officers didn’t locate him.
August 24
    At 1 a.m. a 911 caller said a man was fighting with a bouncer at a bar. The man was to be trespassed.
    At 2:18 a.m. an officer made contact with a male and female in the back of a vehicle at the Kimsham ball field. He advised the two to find a more suitable location for their activities.
    At 2:31 a.m. a 911 caller said an unresponsive man was lying in the road by the hostel. The man roused when an officer arrived, and said he was waiting for the hostel to open.
    At 6:27 a.m. a 911 caller said he’d been hit on Marine Street. He refused to say by whom, and declined EMS.
     A caller said a neighbor’s front door and truck door were open. The neighbor said he was airing out his house.
    At 6:19 p.m. a 911 caller said a woman had cut her wrists. She was taken to a hospital.
    At 9 p.m. fireworks were reported in the 700 block of Lake Street.        At 10 p.m. fireworks were reported on Katlian Street.
     At 11 p.m. a caller said dogs were barking in the 3200 block of HPR. Officers found the dogs were  being cared for while the owner’s in the hospital.
      At 11:26 p.m. a caller reported people yelling in the Lance street area. Officers were told kids were talking loudly in a hot-tub, and would be quieter.
August 25
    At 12:17 a.m. a caller said a friend returned home from the hospital, had a knife and was threatening to harm herself.
      At 1:16 a.m. fireworks were reported in the Monastery/DeGroff area.
    At 1:46 a.m. and again at 2:14 a.m. a woman was reported screaming at a Lake Street residence. She said she’d had a nightmare.
    At 2:16 a.m. a caller said a woman tried to get into his vehicle, and her boyfriend tried to fight him. An officer found it was a misunderstanding.
    A woman at 1211 SMC blew a PBT of .424 and was hospitalized.
    A traffic accident was reported at 7:18 a.m. at Baranof and SMC.
    A quilted shirt and bracelet were found at the base of Castle Hill.
    An intoxicated woman in an ER was taken into protective custody.
    A caller said he’d lost his credit card and someone had used it twice.
    Two batteries worth $240 were stolen off a boat at Thomsen Harbor.
    A seafood plant staff member asked to talk to police about an assault.
    Police checked on a man who reportedly took an overdose. Police saw him later and he appeared fine.
    A resident reported missing a significant amount of cash.
    A Kaagwaantaan Street resident reported damage to her door, possibly from an attempted break-in.
       At 6:22 p.m. a caller said a man was talking and yelling to himself, and pushing luggage through downtown.
    At 7 p.m. a resident reported another vessel hit hers in Eliason.
    A resident turned in a Ziploc bag filled with what appeared to be drugs. Police took it and disposed of it.
    At 11:38 p.m. a caller complained about a strong odor from a waste oil furnace on Granite Creek Road. Officers said the lack of wind may be keeping it from dissipating.

Sitka Police
    Franklin Moore, 52, was arrested on two warrants and charged with violating conditions of release.
    Michael White, 58, was charged Saturday with assault in the fourth degree and resisting arrest.
    Wilma Osborne, 49, was charged with two counts of violating a domestic violence order.

Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Friday, non Saturday, and four Sunday.
    At 4:33 p.m. Saturday a fire truck was sent to the 4700 block of HPR on a false alarm.
    At 7:18 a.m. Sunday a fire truck and an ambulance were sent to SMC and Baranof Street on a car accident with no injuries.
