Police Blotter
    Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
August 27
    A caller reported low hanging wires on American Street. The electric department was notified.
    At 8:39 a.m. a caller said a vehicle, a 2017 Ford, was going very slow, under the speed limit. Officers were advised.
    At 10:40 a.m. a caller said a group of guys were smoking marijuana around a bunch of tourists at Centennial Hall. Officers responded and issued a verbal warning to the group not to do marijuana in public.
    An Oregon driver’s license found in Sealing Cove harbor was turned in.
    At 12:29 p.m. a 911 caller said he was going to shoot himself in the head. Officers and EMS responded.
    At 2:21 p.m. a caller said a car was parked in a bus lane on Monastery Street. Officer left a message for the registered owner.
    Dispatch received a domestic violence order to be served.
    At 6:29 p.m. a caller reported a couple arguing loudly at 614 Katlian. An officer contacted them, and they agreed to move on.
    At 6:51 p.m. a caller reported losing a brown wallet containing $500, credit cards, insurance cards and hearing aid batteries, at a lodge. The caller  requested assistance with ID for travel Wednesday, and asked to be called any time of night or day if the wallet was found.
    At 7 p.m. a caller reported possible under-age drinking in the 1300 block of SMC after seeing a resident enter a home with alcohol and two under-age individuals. Officers were advised.
    At 7:06 p.m. a caller said he needed help, but disconnected while speaking with EMS. Dispatch called back several times but the phone went to voicemail each time. EMS responded and took the caller to the hospital.
    At 7:28 p.m. a man said his iPad was taken from his unlocked vehicle at the airport and the tracking system was registering it near a hotel. The man called back later to say he’d located the laptop at a business nearby, where it had been turned in as found property.
    At 8:36 p.m. a driver said he’d seen two individuals fighting in the 200 block of Lincoln, and had pulled in to see if anyone needed assistance. One had left the scene and the other appeared injured. Police made an arrest.
    At 11:45 p.m. a caller reported seeing a man enter the apartment of a person he’d previously caused trouble for. Officers escorted the man off the property.
    August 28
    At 12:36 a.m. a caller at Thomsen Harbor said a man had a nosebleed that wasn’t stopping. EMS took him to the hospital.
    At 5:22 a.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on a patient who had left the hospital on foot. Officers went to the patient’s home and found he was fine.


Sitka Police
    Kevin Young, 29, was charged Tuesday night with assault in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

    Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 12:35 p.m., 12:43 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 1:33 p.m., 3:32 p.m., 6:26 p.m., 7:08 p.m. and 8:49 p.m. Tuesday, and 12:37 a.m. today.
