Grace Larsen, thank you for sharing your wonderful fry bread with us once again. Your support of the fire department and our Super Saturday fund-raiser over the years is greatly appreciated. And we know that one year in the future you will truly retire.
A BIG thank you goes to the volunteers and staff who showed up on the event day to help where needed and to set up and take down. And the weather cooperated as well.
See you next year.

Functional Movement
Dear Editor: The decision for me to come back to Sitka after college is because of the amazing sense of community and the inspirational people that choose to live here. We are extremely blessed to have so many leaders in our town who share their knowledge and expertise for the simple reason of fostering healthy and happy lives.
One of our local specialists, Gio Villanueva PT, DPT, ATC, LAT, came to the RockFit program at the Hames Center and shared his immense knowledge of functional movement and asymmetries with members who are challenging themselves in their overall fitness.
Participants learned about what imbalances exist in their own bodies and received anatomical information that will help them become more aware and assist them in getting the most out of their training.
In this busy world, we are deeply grateful for top notch professionals like Gio who continue to reach out and help friends and neighbors in our community. Thank you, Gio!

Diaz Brothers
Dear Editor: Hames Center has had the privilege of watching Elmer and Uli Diaz play basketball here for almost five years. Their smiles and great personalities will be deeply missed on this court. This week, we invite the friends and family of our basketball stars to come play Tuesday and Friday nights, 6-8 p.m. (“it’s on us” ... so, come be our guest). We’ll shoot hoops, play in their honor and remember their love of the game.
