Thank You, Troy
Dear Editor: I’ve seen recently where Troy Bayne has donated material from the job site he is working on to the general populace of Sitka.
This effort goes over and above what people normally do and it must come to some cost for him to do so. I’d like to applaud him for that as it sets an example for other contractors to use their waste stream for the general enrichment of everyone in Sitka.
Again, thank you, Troy Bayne.

Cell Phones
Dear Editor: Last Wednesday two cars and a truck approached the roundabout at the same time. The other two drivers were on cell phones. Focused they were, engaged – I assume – in some terribly important conversation with someone terribly important. I don’t think they even saw me entering from the west on Lake Street. They certainly didn’t slow down. Zipped right through as if they always have the right of way. Maybe they always do. And always will. Until there is a serious accident, and the public takes a fierce stand about driver cell phone use. In the meantime, I must be doubly aware of what’s going on, keep my cool, and try to be understanding. Its seems to be a new kind of addictive disease, you know. This Digital Stuff and the power it presumes.
Please be super aware at the roundabout. Thank you.
