To Say Goodbye

Dear Editor: I am sorry to see the end of Sitka Community Hospital where my husband and I had very good care.

It was a wonderful place. We had surgeries, X-rays, lab work, and good doctors and nurses.

Housekeeping did a good job. We had great food from the kitchen. Maintenance kept everything in good condition. Thank you to all you people.

May you all find a good place to work and enjoy every day.

Alberta Hemnes, Sitka

P.S. The office people and any other department did very well also.

Dunleavy Recall

Dear Editor: Sitkans will have a second opportunity to sign the Dunleavy recall petition on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall (entrance 401 Spruce Street). All registered voters are encouraged to come by to sign the petition and learn more about the recall process.

This bipartisan effort launched last week and gathered over 10,000 signatures statewide the first day, with nearly 350 Sitkans signing the petition. An updated tally is currently underway. For more information, visit recalldunleavy.org, find us on Facebook at Alaskans For Recalling Governor Mike Dunleavy, or call 738-9942. All remaining petitions will be submitted on Friday, Aug. 9.
