Card of Thanks
Dear Editor: The family of Betty Henning wishes to express our gratitude to the community of Sitka for their support and compassion during this difficult time. To the doctors, nurses and care team at SEARHC hospital and at SEARHC Home Care, as well as Ed from Harry Race Pharmacy and Trudy Prewitt. We appreciate your compassion and common sense care approach in keeping the human factor in mind. Val Vidad, you were truly a Godsend, and have a true gift. We so appreciate your compassionate hands-on in-home care, and the skills you taught us to help care for Betty.
We also appreciate the people who called, stopped by the house to visit, brought snacks or a meal, and/or offered condolences, wrote a note, sent a card, flowers, or made donations to Brave Heart Volunteers in honor of Betty.
In addition, much gratitude to the friends, former co-workers, and students from both in and out of town who brought food and stories to share at Betty’s celebration of life. To all of you, the family is extremely grateful and we truly appreciate your love, and support as we continue to work through this difficult time. Sitka is an amazing community that we are blessed to be a part of and have ties to.
