Sitka High’s baseball squad routed the Petersburg Vikings in a three-game home series over the weekend. The Wolves blanked Petersburg 17-0 Friday in foul weather before playing twice more in better conditions Saturday, beating the Vikings 11-1 and 10-0.
Sitka plays Juneau here Friday and Saturday before heading to Ketchikan next week for the regional tournament.
Down in Ketchikan Friday and Saturday, the Wolves' track and field team faced off against squads from across Southeast, and Sitka's girls took first overall, while the boys took second. Sitka will run in the Region V meet this coming weekend in Juneau. A story on the track meet will run in Wednesday's Sentinel.
The Lady Wolves softball team had a bye this weekend, but plays in Juneau later this week.
