Dear Editor: On behalf of the Sitka Cancer Survivor’s Society, we want to thank all who came this past Saturday, ready to help celebrate all the cancer survivors who attended our event, at the Path of Hope Park. It was an incredible beautiful sunny day!
We enjoyed being with each other, and munching on all the delicious refreshments of cookies, provided by our Sitka Emblem Club 142.
Those who attended really enjoyed looking for the hidden treasures, and when found, picking out their prizes of choice. We had six hidden this year.
We had special guests who were able to attend from the Juneau Cancer Connection, Executive Director Christy Ciambor and Board President Cheryl Weinberg. They absolutely loved our Path of Hope Park and all that Sitka has to offer. Was so happy to show our park off to them.
We also want to thank Bev’s Flowers and Gifts for the beautiful presentation of the purple carnation flowers, that were given to each of the survivors and supporters. We want to thank the Sitka Sentinel, for their continued support of all our PSA postings, and KIFW and Raven Radio.
