Alaska Department of Public Safety Training Academy cadets and others jog over the O'Connell Bridge Saturday during the national Law Enforcement Torch Run. The event is held to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics programs. The Torch Run was created in 1981 by Wichita, Kansas Police Chief Richard LaMunyon to help law enforcement be active in the community and support Special Olympics.
