Change Your Latitude Draws Swimmers From Near and Far

Posted

A total of 89 swimmers participated in the annual Baranof Barracudas Change Your Latitude open water swim race on Sunday.

Swimmers came from as far away as Hawaii for the annual fundraiser for the local swim club, with about half from Alaska and Sitka.

A story will appear in the Sentinel later this week; results are below for the top three finishers in each category. A few of the events had no entries, and the most popular distance by far was the 3k, with 47 swimmers with and without wetsuits. An estimated 73% of swimmers were women; and 27% were men.
