Dave Turcott Tribute

Dear Editor: With deep sadness the Sitka Maritime Heritage Society board of directors marks the death of Dave Turcott – teacher, musician, fisherman, shipwright and board member extraorinaire.

Dave always stepped up when something needed to be done. He would give us the benefit of his wisdom, in his low-key way. He could make anybody feel welcome and comfortable, with his good humor.

We miss Dave, and we offer our deep condolences to his family and loved ones. We feel so lucky to have known him – they don’t make ’em like that any more.
