Don’t Drink and Drive

Dear Editor: My name is Jesse Blumer. I was convicted of two DUIs this last June. I want to apologize to the community of Sitka for putting you at risk and also show how serious drinking and driving is. I was put in the hospital for three days from one and put a family at risk of injury on the other. I’ve done jail time. I owe over $5,000 in restitution. I’ve done four months of treatment, lost my privilege to drive for a year, plus another year of auto-lock device. Bottom line: it doesn’t pay to drink and drive.
