Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

 

November 30

An out-of-town caller asked for a welfare check on a woman in Sitka who hadn’t been heard from in awhile. The woman told police she was fine and the caller might be a stalker.

At 2:27 p.m. parked vehicles were reported blocking a mailbox at Seward and Kaagwaantaan. The vehicles were gone when officers arrived.

 

A caller reported his mom had seen a shopper at a grocery store not wearing a mask. Police documented the complaint, which was civil in nature.

At 8:20 p.m. a caller reported an unwanted and violent man was at a residence. Officers separated the parties involved for the night.

At 9:29 p.m. a caller said a woman with children was refusing to leave a restaurant at closing time. She left while the caller was talking to police.

At 11:10 a.m. a caller on Andrew P. Hope Street reported hearing yelling, possibly calls for help. Police found the yelling was from kids playing.

December 1

At 12:20 a.m. a bear was reported climbing rocks on Tilson Street, headed for the ball field.

At 1:23 a.m. a citation was issued to a Wachusetts Street resident for having a bear attractant.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 2:59 a.m., 5:21 p.m. and 7:23 a.m. Tuesday.

 

Marriages

The following couples applied for marriage licenses in September:

Nash Anthony Grenadier and Dazlymae Miguel Rodrigo; Patrick Shields Steadman and Rili Anne Williams; Chandler Kadake and Alycia Tresham; and Forest Podski and Alexanne Goodman.

Applying for marriage licenses in October were: Benjamin Edward Meja and Emily Elizabeth Feridofs; Anthony Fredrick Cook and Stephanie M. Herman; Delano G. Scott and Melinda Fernandez Canay; Davin Ferrell Houk and Lois Ann Cynthia Garcia; and Alexander George Dawe and Sharon Ann McIndoo.

Applying in November were Jose Ramon J. Garcia and Patricia Villa Abania; and Matthew Carl Martin and Breanna Nicole Wampler.

 

Divorces

Kristy Ann (Winter) Osbekoff and Dennis Osbekoff were granted a divorce in September.

Mark Thomas Newkirk and Gina Marie (Lusher) Newkirk were granted a divorce in October.

Granted divorces in November were Summer Anne (Robbins) Travelstead and Ryan Travelstead; Jean (Fesserden) Sprague and Richard L. Sprague Jr.; Shane A. Taylor and Valerie Lynn (Heritsch) Taylor; and Danielle Morgan (Rider) Feldpausch and Jonathan Allen Feldpausch.
