    Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
December 11
    At 8:55 a.m. a caller said a taxi driver had been following him so closely he couldn’t see the headlights. The driver followed the caller to Keet Gooshi Heen and got out of the taxi but when he saw the caller was a male got back in the cab and sped away, the caller said. An officer contacted the taxi driver and warned him about his driving habits.
    At 11:50 a.m. a caller reported graffiti on the side of an apartment building on
Andrews Street. Officers documented the graffiti.
    A caller said vehicles aren’t stopping for the flashing crosswalk sign at HPR and Peterson Avenue, between about  8:30 and 8:45 a.m. One time a vehicle stopped in one lane but three vehicles headed the other way did not, the caller said, and vehicles are speeding up to outrun the yellow light. He asked for more patrols of the area.
    A caller requested a welfare check on his ex, who had told him she was going to harm herself. Officers spoke to the woman and she agreed to go voluntarily to a hospital for professional help. She was left in the care of staff.
    At 3:13 p.m. a caller said a woman had left a hospital against doctor’s orders. Officers responded and found she had returned on her own.
    A caller said a set of keys, including a postal box key, had been found downtown. The caller said the keys would be left in the mail pick-up box so the owner of the postal box key could be identified.
    At 7:59 p.m. a Life Alert requested EMS for an elderly woman who had fallen and needed assistance in getting back up. She was taken to a hospital.
    December 12
    At 5:35 a.m. a caller asked for EMS for her husband, who had briefly lost consciousness and was having trouble breathing.

    Sitka Police
    Justin A. Cameron, 40, was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday.

Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 8:02 p.m. Tuesday and 5:38 a.m. today.
