Barry
Dear Editor: Now that there was a good man. Over the past decade or so Barry and I often worked together, helped each other out, BS’d a ton, and occasionally even found some time to get out and play. Great memories.
He was a stand-up guy, interesting, reliable, intelligent, a great friend, and socially relevant considering his reclusive lifestyle. It is an honor to have him as part of my life, and he will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to have known him. I look forward to the day when he can be laid to rest back home, with all the critters he loved os much, with the evenings looking north at the lights of town, and the days with uninhibited storms rolling in from the Southeast.
With the utmost respect, I would like to acknowledge everyone who helped him through these daunting last few months. It was truly amazing to see the devotion and care he received, I know he was overwhelmed and appreciated how much love his Sitkan friends shared with him, he must have passed with a very happy heart. To the ‘‘Saints of Sheep Island’’ and ‘‘The Most Interesting Veterinarian in the World,’’ and all the others I have failed to mention, you are awesome and, thank you.
