Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
December 14
At 3:16 a.m. a car with a red light blinking inside was reported parked at Darrin Drive and HPR. It was gone when police arrived.
At 5 a.m. a car on American Street was cited for violating parking hours.
At 8:34 a.m. a caller reported seeing a snow plow take out a grate near the roundabout. Officers found no sign of a damaged grate.
A park ranger turned in an iPhone found on the golf course.
A credit card was turned in to police, and the owner was contacted.
A phone found on Alice Loop Road was to be picked up by its owner.
At 12:06 p.m. a fluffy white dog was reported running at large near Spenard Builders Supply. It was gone when officers arrived.
A foot patrol was conducted in the 100 block of Lincoln Street at 1 p.m.
A woman reported finding dents in her vehicle from an apparent hit and run. Police opened a case file.
At 5 p.m. a truck was reported in a ditch at HPR and Ross Street. The driver was uninjured and the truck was towed.
At 5:38 p.m. a caller reported two intoxicated people in the 1300 block of SMC had threatened to have the caller’s vehicle towed. Officers advised the caller of options.
At 9:13 p.m. a caller reported seeing damage to his vehicle, apparently in a hit and run incident. However, he called back to say that after the vehicle was warmed up a note was found on the windshield.
