Winter Programs

Dear Editor: Last Thursday my wife and I went to the winter celebration to watch our granddaughter perform. It was wonderful and all the kids were wonderful and did a great job. However, as we watched we began to notice that Christmas was not being mentioned at all. No Christmas carols. No Merry Christmas at the end, nothing. Many other traditions were sung about, which is great, but the reason for the season was never mentioned. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth. If we take Christmas out of the season, then there is no reason for the season.

We celebrate Christmas because God gave us the greatest gift of all. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Why not take this time to open you heart to Jesus and ask him to come in? He will. He will come in and he will abide with you, and give you much peace. He loves you so much.

We wish you all a joyful Christmas season, and a prosperous new year.
