Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

December 15

At 8:41 a.m. a suspicious looking man was reported in the woods behind Keet Gooshi Heen. Officers found no one fitting the description.

At 9:56 a.m. a school asked for a welfare check on a student. Officers were told the child was ill and was staying home.

At 10 a.m. a caller reported seeing a Jeep back into a pole under the O’Connell Bridge. Police found fragments of taillights near a pole.

At 11:49 a.m. a reckless driver was reported in the 1300 block of SMC. Officers were advised.

At 2:16 p.m. a caller said the turn lane into Lakeside was slippery. Police advised the state DOT.

A sexual assault was reported. Officers are investigating.

At 11:41 p.m. a vehicle was reported stuck in the snow near Whale Park. Officers got the vehicle back on the road.

December 16

At 1 a.m. a husband and wife were reported having a dispute in the 1300 block of SMC. Assault charges are under review.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday and 1:27 a.m. and 2:01 a.m. today.
