Rotary Donation
Dear Editor: The Sitka Future Problem Solvers Program would like to thank the Sitka Rotary Club for their recent and generous donation of nearly $400 which covered registration fees for six teams of four students each. These 24 students now have the opportunity to continue their research and submit qualifying problems with the hopes of attending the Alaska FPS Affiliate Bowl in Soldotna in April. One of the Sitka FPS Program’s goals is to include as many interested students as possible. The Sitka Rotary Club’s donation has moved us forward in achieving this goal and we are grateful for their generosity. Thanks again.

Merry Christmas
Dear Editor: Merry Christmas is O.K. to Say.
‘‘When stars aligned and the virgin crowned mother pure and good;
When Joseph placed his little son within the manger’s wood;
Angels sang, trumpets sounded, the star cast it’s glow.
Shepherds hurried across the fields of freshly fallen snow.
What they beheld – swaddled warm upon the hat ... The Savior! Redeemer of mankind! Yes, Merry Christmas is O.K. to say!’’
In memory of Father Jim who carried on a campaign to keep Christ Jesus in Christmas.
B. Kay Baird, Sitka
