The following calls were logged before 8 a.m. today:
Dec. 18
A probation officer asked for police help with a home visit.
A spray-painted Specialized bike frame was left at the police station.
At 11:07 a.m. a caller said a woman was outside her house with paperwork saying she was the temporary custodian of the residence. The caller was told it was a civil matter.
Police are investigating a possible theft.
Police picked up a blue Cannondale bike left along Beardslee Way.
A white Newfoundland puppy was picked up in the 1800 block of HPR. The owner picked it up.
A man who fell down on Harbor Drive was taken to the hospital.
A backpack was reported stolen.
The animal control officer picked up a dog at Lance and Burkhart, and returned it to the owner.
A resident reported a couple living in a car at the Gavan trailhead.
The owner of a wallet found in a grocery store parking lot was called.
At 5:15 p.m. a caller said she was worried about her elderly mother taking a shower but was too tired to return to the home to check on her. The caller later agreed to do the check, and said she would call back if she needed help.
A caller said his son’s boat may have been vandalized in Eliason Harbor. The caller said he’d heard four windows were broken, but he hadn’t yet gone to check on it.
At 7:49 p.m. a resident called 911, asking for an officer’s help for his father who may be having thoughts of harming himself, due to financial problems. Police talked to the father and son about their options.
A resident reported her husband was violating a domestic violence order by calling her. He was arrested.
Dec. 19
At 5:10 a.m. a resident reported neighbors arguing. One was arrested at the scene.
Sitka Police
Samuel K. Kane, 34, was remanded Tuesday for a felony probation violation.
David R. Evenson, 40, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of violating a domestic violence order.
Sean S. Brown, 53, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) and criminal mischief.
Noriss S. Howard, 49, was arrested today on a warrant for theft in the fourth degree.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday and 8:45 a.m. today.
Coast Guard
The Coast Guard air Station Sitka helicopter medevacked a high risk, 45-year-old patient with heart conditions on Tuesday. She was flown from Petersburg to Sitka, where she was transferred to an Airlift Northwest plane and taken to Anchorage for advanced medical treatment.
