Sitka Police

    The following calls were logged before 8 a.m. today:
Dec. 19
    At 9:21 a.m. a caller said a vehicle had rolled out of a driveway on Lance Drive and was blocking the road. It was moved before officers arrived.
    A caller said a person plowing a downtown parking area hit his vehicle. The incident was caught on video.
    At 3 p.m. a rear-end traffic accident was reported at 600 HPR. No injuries were reported.
    At 4:31 p.m. a caller reported being nearly hit by a van at Lake and Lincoln.
    A small pink Kate Spade wallet was reported lost near SEARHC.
    At 9:42 p.m. a driver said he’d rear-ended a vehicle at a house on Monastery Street. It was determined to be private property.
    December 21
    At 12:34 a.m. a Dodge truck was reported stuck in snow. Dispatch helped arrange for a tow.

Emergency Calls
    Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:18 a.m., 11:49 a.m., 1:57 p.m. and 6:29 p.m. Thursday.
    At 3 p.m. emergency crews were sent to the 600 block of Halibut Point Road for a rear-ender traffic accident. No injuries were reported.


Coast Guard
    A 48-year-old woman who had been showing symptoms of sepsis at the Haines Clinic for some 24 hours, was rescued by a Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew Thursday afternoon when bad weather and daylight restrictions at the Haines airport prevented a commercial service from flying in.
    The Sitka crew brought the woman to Sitka, where she was taken to SEARHC.
