Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

December 22

At 12:52 a.m. a caller on Edgecumbe Drive said a home alarm had gone off and a male she didn’t recognize could be seen on camera. Police responded, and it was found the man was a relative who was to have caught a plane earlier.

At 2:18 a.m. a woman was seen clearing chunks of snow that kids had thrown into parking areas in the 700 block of HPR. An officer stopped and helped move the snow.,

At 5:29 a.m. an officer helped a man get from Sealing Cove to the airport to catch a flight.

At 9:59 a.m. the animal control officer was called about a dog running at large on Eberhardt Drive.

At 11 a.m. a caller asked police for a welfare check on a friend who had sent her an SOS. Officers located the caller and were told there was no emergency.

A caller asked to speak to an officer about getting a restraining order for people coming onto his property.

A woman turned in a wallet found at a downtown business. It was returned to the owner.

A taxi driver said a customer had broken the taxi door.

At 5:11 p.m. a driver on McConkey Drive asked for help getting out of an icy driveway.

A vehicle license plate found on Katlian Street was turned in at the police station. Dispatch contacted the owner.

A resident who is out of town said his home might have been broken into as a door was reported open and the kitchen light on. Officers found the caller’s father was at the home.

At 11:38 p.m. a caller reported a fight at a business in the 1200 block of SMC. Afterward, a man in a red hat and a woman were reported walking toward Sawmill Creek Plaza, EMS was called and the man was taken to the hospital. Charges are to be forwarded.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Wednesday.
