Sitka Police

    The following calls were logged before 8 a.m. today:
December 21
    At 8 a.m. a man said his wife had come home the night before after three days, stolen $500 cash from his coat pocket and left. He was told it was a civil matter and advised of his options.
    At 8:48 a.m. a woman said a man was pounding on her door and stating his wife had stolen from him. Officers advised him to leave and said he’d be arrested if he returned.
    A wallet and LG phone were found outside 404 Lake St. The owner picked up the wallet  but said the phone was one he’d found in August near DMV. Police disposed of it.
    At 10:49 a.m. TSA told police a large quantity of marijuana was found in a carry-on.
    A woman who had passed out on a couch at a home was taken to a hospital.
    A stalking order was to be served.
    A 911 caller reported being assaulted. Officers spoke to both parties and neither wanted to press charges.
    A caller reported seeing three people wheeling an elderly man into a bank. Officers spoke to the man, who said everything was fine. Officers followed up with further inquiries.
    At 3:37 p.m. a caller said his red waistline bag fell off the hood of his car at the end of HPR.
December 22
    At 6:44 a.m. a caller reported hearing a neighbor yell at someone to get out of her house. The woman told officers she was telling her intoxicated sister to leave.
    At 7:34 p.m. a caller said young kids were throwing large chunks of ice into the road toward vehicles at Baranof and SMC. An officer spoke to the kids, who agreed to move on.
December 23
    At 2 a.m. an  officer reported a vehicle was stuck in a ditch in the 2900 block of SMC. No one was in the area.
    A Samsung Galaxy Note was turned in from Katlian Street.
    A juvenile left a group home at 1:40 p.m. without permission, but returned home about eight hours later.
    At 4:39 p.m. police warned a group of people on Eagle Beach not to set off any more fireworks.
    At 5 p.m. a caller reported a drunk driver in the 2800 block of HPR. Police were advised.
    An ambulance was dispatched for an elderly woman who fell down some stairs. She was awake and breathing but unable to feel her feet. She was taken to the hospital.
    At 10:20 p.m. a highly intoxicated woman was refusing to leave a grocery store. She blew a .294 reading on the intoximeter, and was taken to the hospital.
    At 11:21 p.m. a resident asked for a welfare check on a woman, who asked to remove her 2-year-old granddaughter from the home. Police spoke to the mother and a relative.
December 24
    At 1:59 a.m. a man reported sleeping at the side of Katlian Street was gone when police checked.

    Sitka Police
    Jeremy C. Beebe, 45, was charged Friday with violating conditions of release by testing positive for drugs.

    Coast Guard
    A 71-year-old man with chest pains was taken by the Coast Guard helicopter Friday evening from Hoonah to Sitka for further medical treatment.

    Emergency Calls

    Sitka Fire Department dispatched ambulances at 1:22 p.m. and 7:19 p.m. Friday; 7:08, 9:20 and 10:33 p.m. Sunday and 1:37 a.m. today.
    At 6:34 a.m. Saturday a fire truck was sent to 103 Scarlett Way after a carbon monoxide detector went off. Fire hall personnel found no leak,  Chief Dave Miller said.
