Elder Luncheon

Dear Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sitka Tribe of Alaska Social Service Department for the Elder Luncheon put on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the ANB Founders Hall. The food was good; I never felt so appreciated just for being an elder. There was no importance of position. While it was for elders, all who showed up was treated equally and with respect.

The prizes were great, the staff was wonderful, and the students were wonderful. I had a great time eating, visiting, winning prizes. Thank you, STA Lisa, Jean, Jackie, Mrs. Duncan, the Brave Heart Volunteers team and the students for the venison and to all those who took part in this event. Most I do not know. My grandchild asked if I had been to a Koo’eex – it felt like Christmas to me.

A heartfelt Gunalch’eesh/thank you.
