Thanks to Arts Council
Dear Editor: I am once again very impressed with the support shown for public education by the community of Sitka. Recently, at Blatchley Middle School, we created an after-school arts program.
We approached the Sitka Arts Council with a request for funding and they quickly and generously gave a $500 scholarship. What a wonderful community we live in!
The students and staff of BMS greatly appreciate their generosity. It is money well spent.

Beautiful Sitka
Dear Editor: It was a real pleasure to visit your beautiful city. We were especially interested in the Russian influence and how wonderfully clean your city is. We hope to visit again sometime.
