Police Blotter

    Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
December 5
    A caller reported a rear-end accident at the recycling center on SMC.
    At 3:15 p.m. two men were reported seen possibly stealing from a house in the 2200 block of SMC.
    At 4:15 p.m. a dog was reported loose on the Mt. Edgecumbe High grounds. The caller was advised of options since the ACO wasn’t on duty.
    At 4:54 p.m. a fire alarm went off in the 700 block of Indian River Road after someone burned food.
    At 5:42 p.m. a Lifeline alarm was triggered when a woman needed help getting back into her wheelchair. She was uninjured. The fire hall got the woman’s house key from a Knox Box, and helped her back into her chair.
    At 9:18 p.m. a caller said her daughter cried “oh no” into the phone, and the line went dead, while the daughter was walking across the bridge. Police found the daughter had made it safely home.

    Sitka Police

    Harper Matz, 19, and a 17-year-old girl were cited for minor consuming Wednesday night.
    Kole A. Kegley, was arrested early this morning on a charge of driving under the influence.
   
    Emergency Calls

    Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 1:08 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. Wednesday and 7:17 a.m. today.
    At 4:54 p.m. Wednesday a fire truck was sent to 701 Indian River Road after burned food triggered the alarm. There was no fire.
    At 7:52 p.m. Wednesday a fire truck was sent to 104 Lance Drive after a caller reported a possible electric fire, which turned out to be a malfunctioning outdoor plug. Power was shut off to the plug, Fire Chief Dave Miller said.

    In Court

    John R. McKee, 33, was found to have violated conditions of probation, and was ordered to serve three days of suspended time. He is also subject to limited searches.
