Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
December 3
At 12:07 a.m. an officer helped a vehicle get out of a driveway in the 1500 block of SMC.
At 7:27 a.m. two dogs were reported running at large on Monastery and Kinkaid streets, but the owner called back five minutes later to report the two were now inside.
At 8:26 a.m. a caller in the 2500 block of SMC said a bear had raided his trash can at 4 a.m.
At 8:21 a.m. a caller said the road in the 4700 block of HPR wasn’t plowed. Police notified DOT.
At noon a caller said a dog charged him while he was shoveling snow. The dog was surrendered to the animal shelter.
At 12:10 p.m. a caller said birds were getting into trash in the back of a pickup at Crescent Harbor.
At 1:28 p.m. a worker was reported leaning his ladder against a light pole to reach lines.
A combative juvenile, age 16, was reported causing a disturbance at a home. She was found to be under the influence.
Police were asked to check on the welfare of a dog on HPR that stays tied up for long times and barks.
At 5:42 p.m. a caller reported seeing a young boy on a bike who wasn’t wearing a helmet and had no lights.
At 6:11 p.m. a caller said a friend was having trouble evicting her boyfriend. Officers talked to the two, who refused to separate for the night.
At 6:54 p.m. an ATV was reported being driven in the road in the 2500 block of SMC. An officer spoke to the driver and gave a warning.
At 7:25 p.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on her daughter and two grandkids. Officers contacted the daughter, who said she’d call her mom.
December 4
At 9:38 a.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on a friend who was having to leave a hotel, and had been drinking. EMS personnel took the friend to the hospital.
At 9:51 a.m. an officer helped out a motorist at Edgecumbe Drive and Wortman Loop.
At 5:54 p.m. a caller said she and her ex were arguing about a dog.
At 9 p.m. a driver was reported doing brodies in the Mt. Edgecumbe High School parking lot. Officers found the driver was age 13 and the mother was in the car.
December 5
At 12:92 a.m. a couple as reported having a dispute. Alcohol was involved. An officer spoke to the two, and they agreed to stay in separate rooms for the night.
At 3:43 p.m. an officer assisted a motorist in the 2100 block of SMC.
December 6
At 2:17 a.m. a caller said people she didn’t know had just walked into her apartment off SMC, and she had gone to a relative’s home. Officers found no one in the apartment, and checked the area.

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Friday, three on Saturday and three more on Sunday.
