‘Muscles and Manicures’
Dear Editor: It’s such a privilege to live in a town with generous, high quality services and opportunities. Thanks to support from Sitka Charitable Trust, over 40 women spent two hours experiencing and learning benefits of strength training on Saturday night.
Mariah Comer, the personal trainer at the Hames Center, inspired “Muscles and Manicures” night. Thanks to her wonderful knowledge and guidance, women had a great night at the gym. Jessica Pyatt, a brilliant physical therapist with Sitka Physical Therapy also assisted women with correct, effective use of the equipment. Nora Skeele, a talented masseuse at Backcountry Bodyworks and Bridget Hitchcock, a top-notch physical therapist with Oceanside Physical Therapy, offered massages to the lucky participants throughout the evening. Linda Speerstra, a dynamic fitness instructor at Hames, taught strength training classes that inspired and encouraged!
Six free manicures at Botanica Spa were given away after Mariah’s impressive presentation. What a gift to have a strong team of women like this in our town creating a free night to strengthen women of Sitka. Thanks so much, ladies! Deeply appreciative,
Cindy Edwards,
Hames Center
