Dear Editor: Have you considered making a donation to Brave Heart Volunteers? Recently we became a monthly donors to BHV. BHV has a new payment system that makes donating and recurring donations easier than ever.
If you are not familiar with the work of Brave Heart Volunteers, they train and connect volunteers with Sitkans that may be experiencing loneliness, grief and end of life. They currently have about 50 active volunteers visiting on a weekly basis. They provide care receivers with vital social connection and emotional support they need. All services are free, but they come with operational costs that have been increasing for this essential Sitka nonprofit.
